Hofteleddsartrose

Hofteleddsartrose skyldes sykelige forandringer i hofteleddet som rammer både brusken og øvrige vev i leddet. De fleste klarer seg med behandling som øvelser, et tilpasset treningsprogram, vektkontroll og god informasjon om tilstanden. Noen vil ha behov for behandling med legemidler, og et fåtall med langtkomne forandringer vil ha nytte av hofteproteseoperasjon.

En godt voksen kvinnelig lege møter en mannlig pasient. Hun forklarer hoftesmerte med hjelp av en anatomisk modell.
Ved hofteleddsatrose utvikles det gradvis smerter i lysken og fortil og på siden av låret. Smertene stråler gjerne ned mot kneet. Illustrasjonsfoto: Colourbox.com
